Description

The album presents a collection of works made in the batik technique in the period of 1950s – 2016. The authors of the works are well-known masters and professional artists of Ukraine. The names of many of them are associated with their work at the country’s powerful silk mills that operated in the second half of the twentieth century.

The batik technique was widely used in decorating fabrics for various purposes: interior, for sewing dresses and decorating scarves, decorative panels. Nowadays, contemporary artists are actively turning to this kind of art, creating original ornamental, thematic and figurative-associative compositions that decorate interiors, museum expositions and exhibitions.

The author’s works of famous Ukrainian artists presented in the album testify to the high technical and artistic level of their performers.

It is intended for everyone interested in art and traditional culture of Ukraine.
